STERLING HEIGHTS (WKZO) — A metro Detroit doctor faces charges in connection with a drug delivery scheme. Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette’s office has charged Doctor John Verbovsky with 13 felony counts, including criminal sexual conduct and conspiracy to deliver drugs.
Authorities say Verbovsky prescribed large doses of pain medication to two female patients to get them hooked on the drugs and then forced them to perform sex acts to continue receiving the medication. He is also accused of writing prescriptions for oxycodone to another patient, knowing they would sell the pills and give him a cut of the profit.
Verbovsky operates two clinics, Stout Family Medicine in Detroit and Progressive Family Medicine in Sterling Heights.
