WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKZO) — President Obama and Cuban President Raul Castro are inching toward a new era in relations between the U.S. and the Communist nation off the Florida coast, but the trade embargo remains in place. U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow says when discussions begin in Congress on lifting the embargo, she will be pushing for it.
Stabenow recently traveled to Cuba with other lawmakers, and said during her second trip to Cuba, people were much happier thanks to the moves toward normalized relations. President Obama has eased the travel ban, allowing Americans to visit Cuba for the first time in decades.
