LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The Appropriations Committees of both the House and Senate have approved a $102 million gubernatorial executive order aimed at balancing the current fiscal year budget. The matter takes immediate effect about 28 hours after Governor Snyder had issued the order, and in both committees, the vote mostly went along party lines.
This order will help offset a $456 million revenue shortfall caused in part by businesses cashing in more performance-based tax credits, mostly issued during the Granholm administration, than what state economists had been anticipating.
