LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Governor Snyder’s proposal to merge the Michigan Department of Human Services with the Department of Community Health later this year was considered by a state Senate subcommittee last week. Interim DHS Director Nick Lyon testified that this would be a “huge opportunity to do something valuable to simplify this system.” There are concerns from both sides of the aisle that services in the new Department of Health and Human Services could be compromised as a result.
