PORTER TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Authorities in Cass County say an animal that ran into the path of a motorcyclist caused a crash Thursday evening.
Deputies responded to Sunset Blvd near US-12 in Porter Township at around 6:15. 53-year-old Todd Vankirk of Edwardsburg was headed northbound and swerved to avoid hitting the critter. He ended up crossing the median and going off the road into a guard rail.
Vankirk was transported to an Indiana hospital and his condition has not been reported. Officials say he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
