MDOT Practices Questioned by State House Panels

LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Three state House committees held a joint hearing into last Friday’s Office of the Auditor General report that the Michigan Department of Transportation was lax in its oversight of warranties on road and bridge construction projects. The panel also asked MDOT officials why 9.5 million dollars was spent on leasing and refurbishing unused rail cars, which was documented by the OAG earlier this month. These issues come just over two months from the Proposal 1 road funding vote on May 5^th.
