LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Add the name of Bill Schuette to the apparently growing list of Republicans who have stated their opposition to Proposal 1 on the May 5th statewide ballot. The Attorney General told Governor Snyder of his plan to vote no on the question that would add a one-percent hike on the state sales tax as part of freeing up $1.2 billion annually for road improvements.
Schuette called the proposal a “Christmas Tree” due to other provisions that were attached in order to get Democratic Party support.
