LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Outgoing state School Superintendent Mike Flanagan submitted his quarterly report on deficit school budgets at a joint hearing of the House and Senate School Aid Appropriations Committees. In it, he said that there were 56 districts operating in the red at the end of Fiscal 2014 last September 30th, up four from the previous year. Of those, 19 plan to balance their books by June 30th; with 27 of the other 36 projecting deficit reductions during FY 2015.
