JACKSON, MI (WHTC) – Consumers Energy officials reported record numbers for natural gas use among their customers in Michigan during a colder-than-normal February. Among the marks that fell was the most natural gas in a 24-hour span that began at 1 PM on February 19th, breaking a standard that lasted more than 21 years. Included in that was a one-hour record from 7 to 8 AM on February 20th, shattering a high set during last year’s Polar Vortex. Overall natural gas usage is down two percent from last winter.
