Otsego-Area Woman Killed in Sunday Afternoon Crash Near Wayland

WAYLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – An 80-year-old Otsego-area woman died yesterday morning when her car in which she was a passenger in was smashed by a pickup truck whose driver admitted going through a stop sign at the intersection of Patterson Road and 136^th Avenue near Wayland. Judith Ann Shumaker succumbed to her injuries at Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital, while the unnamed driver of her automobile was treated for non-life threatening injuries at that same facility. The at-fault trucker may face charges.
