LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Lifting the ban on reselling tickets at above face-value rates in Michigan has cleared a Legislative hurdle. The House Criminal Justice Committee, on a straight party-line vote, endorsed the measure and sent it to the full Lower Chamber for review. Entertainment venues claim that it would cut into general public ticket availability, allowing brokers to buy large blocks and resell at a profit. Supporters say that this is more of a free market issue. A similar bill stalled in the state Senate last year.
