GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – Google and the state of Michigan are teaming up to provide stunning 360-degree images of the state on Google Maps Street View. The partnership using Google Trekker technology was announced at the Pure Michigan Governor’s Conference on Tourism in Grand Rapids.
Dozens of volunteers recorded over 44-thousand panoramic images from places that include Sleeping Bear Dunes to Ford Field. Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley says no other Midwestern state has worked with Google in this fashion.
Experts predict travel spending in Michigan will increase by 2.5 percent in 2015.
