LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The Michigan Public Service Commission extended the public comment deadline to April 20th on an investigation into electric supply reliability in this state. Chairman John Quackenbush told MIRS News this would allow utilities time to take part in an upcoming power auction, which would then open up the utilities’ now-classified supply plans to groups that have long clamored to see them. Consumers Energy and DTE claim that new federal guidelines could lead to power shortages in the future.
