LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Another effort to end the “Lame Duck” period at the end of each two-year state Legislative session has been introduced in the House. Republican Joel Johnson of Clare introduced a bill that, if passed, would put the matter before state voters next year. Johnson claims that lame duck “damages efforts to proceed in a deliberate and thoughtful way on important legislation.” He wants legislative sessions to end the Friday before the second Tuesday in November every even-numbered year.
