LANSING, MI (WHTC) – As state Republicans have already committed to a March 8th Presidential Primary next year, state Democrats may also follow suit. A state Democratic Party spokesman told MIRS News that Chairman Lon Johnson has proposed such an election after speaking with a number of activists, stakeholders, local and party officials. The Dems have opted in recent Presidential cycles to hold a closed caucus, but going along with the GOP on a same-day election could prevent voters from cross-party mischief.
