SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – The Nuclear Regulatory Commission holds an open house and public meeting about the Palisades plant, beginning this evening at 5 PM in South Haven’s Beach Haven Event Center. Agency inspectors and plant operator Entergy officials will discuss the facility’s safety performance, along with NRC oversight efforts. The plant near Covert has had numerous operational issues. Nuclear opponents have demanded Palisades’ closure; the NRC says that the plant is operating safely.
