LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The state Senate Education Committee began taking testimony on a bill that deals with teacher and administrator evaluation in Michigan public schools. The measure, if passed, would require that 25 percent of a teacher’s evaluation be based on student growth by the 2018 academic year, with a 45 percent requirement the following winter. The bill’s detractors claim that it does little to address how to judge administrative growth. More testimony is slated before the committee takes a vote on this.
