LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Union of Concerned Scientists Midwest Analyst Sam Gomberg told the state House Energy Policy Committee that Michigan could generate 30 percent of its energy from renewable sources in 15 years through setting aside five percent of state farmland for wind farms, putting solar panels on rooftops, and turning brownfields into solar farms. He testified during a hearing on establishing new sustainability goals after the 10 percent threshold by 2015 was reached.
