PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – UPDATE: A Hartford man charged in a Portage criminal sexual conduct case, alleged to have taken place at a local preschool, has been sentenced to prison, according to a report from WWMT Monday.
Last fall, 19-year-old Aaron Joe Bryant was arraigned on one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct 2nd Degree with a Child Under the Age 13.
Police were notified of the case by Children’s Protective Services after they received a report from the parents of a child who attends Gilden Woods Early Care and Preschool in Portage.
The report said that while viewing a video stream from the school, Bryant was seen sexually assaulting their child. The parents then reported the incident to Children’s Protective Services.
A report from MLive last month says Bryant was also charged in another case. In the second, Bryant had been accused of inappropriately touching a five-year-old boy while he was sleeping. He was already sentenced for up to 15 years in a third case, where he was charged with second-degree CDC in Berrien County.
On Monday, WWMT reported that Bryant will now face between 32 months and 15 years in prison on one charge of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a child under 13.
In addition, he will be placed on the state’s sex offender registration database and will face lifetime electronic monitoring, according to the report.
