ARLINGTON, VA ( WHTC) – A memorial Day tradition continues today as the 3rd U.S. Infantry heads to Arlington National Cemetary to place hundreds of thousands American flags at the gravestones of service members.
The 3rd U.S. infantry is also known as the Old Guard, which serves as the Army’s ceremonial unit.
Arlington is one of the nation’s largest cemetaries, with 260-thousand gravestones, over 624 acres, and it continues to expand.
