LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Michigan Virtual University officials told the state House Education Committee that three out of 10 of their K-through-12 students failed all of their online classes during the 2014 Academic Year, and more than half of the over 76 thousand in their program couldn’t pass at least one of their studies. Executive Director Joe Freidhoff cited various reasons but didn’t offer any excuses, saying that “we have to do better.” The MVU makes up about 10 percent of the online student population in Michigan.
