LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Restoration of the state Capital dome is underway now that crews have reached the top of the structure with the scaffolding.
The work was completed Friday, and the “Lansing State Journal” reports the six-point-four-million-dollar project is amied at restoring the dome to the original design as intended by a Elijah Myers.
The last major restoration for the state Capital was done in 1992, but did not include the work that’s being done on the exterior finishes of the building in downtown Lansing.
The project is expected to be complete in November.
