MACKINAC ISLAND, MI (WHTC) – Many state leaders are on Mackinac Island for the Detroit Regional Chamber’s annual policy conference. While the intent of the three-day session is to go over issues involving the state and the region, many observers feel that it is nothing more than a chance for over 15 hundred attendees to politically network. One major topic that could spur lively discussion is race relations and economic disparity as it relates to Detroit’s recovery and police incidents in Baltimore and Ferguson over the past year.
