LANSING, MI (WHTC) – State lawmakers, who wanted to put a completed 55 billion-dollar Fiscal 2016 state budget on the Governor’s desk by the end of this week, approved general fund and educational omnibus spending bills that had been sent to the floors of each chamber by a joint conference committee. A majority of fee increase and sunset extensions bills also passed that are intended to balance the state’s bottom line. The budget process in Michigan has been completed before July 1st each of the last four years.
