LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Michigan’s film incentives program could face extinction as both the Senate and the House have approved a bill that would allow existing contracts and commitments to be fulfilled over the next three years before the controversial initiative is ended. Those wishing to end the incentives claim that the program’s impact hasn’t lived up to expectations, as the state has poured about $500 million into it since its inception during the Granholm Administration.
The bill now awaits the Governor’s signature.
