MUSKEGON, MI (WHTC) – The Miss Michigan Scholarship Pageant began its preliminary rounds with 34 young women representing the communities from across the state last night.
For nearly 70 years, young women from the Mitten traveled to Muskegon to compete for the title of Miss Michigan.
The event’s visitors have completely booked multiple hotels in the city, bringing a boost in tourism to its businesses and the nearby Michigan’s Adventure amusement park.
The pageant continues at the Frauenthal Center for the Performing Arts through Saturday night, where Miss Michigan will be announced. The winner then advances to the Miss America pageant in September.
