ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) – Between four and six decades in prison was the sentence handed down to Joshua Keyzer, who pleaded guilty to felony murder and attempted rape charges in a deal with Allegan County Prosecutors. The then-15-year-old stabbed his 21-year-old cousin Kassandra to death and wounded his grandmother Sharon at the older woman’s house near Wayland a year ago this Thursday. The agreement spared Joshua Keyzer a mandatory life in prison without parole sentence, but the sentenced handed down by Allegan County Circuit Court Judge Margaret Bakker was the maximum asked for by prosecutors.
