SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – A memorial service is at 12 noon on Wednesday in South Haven’s Lakeview Cemetery for the victims of Northwest Orient Airlines flight 2501, which disappeared over Lake Michigan 65 years ago. The wreckage was never found, and debris and human remains that washed ashore are the only trace of three crew members and 55 passengers.
An unmarked plot containing some of the remains was recently found. A 2 p.m. program about the incident will be held at the Michigan Maritime Museum.
