BYRON CENTER, MI (WHTC) – Noted distance swimmer Jim Dreyer of Byron Center, who trains at the Holland Community Aquatic Center, said that an undisclosed injury suffered at his Lake Michigan beach facility will force him to postpone a scheduled July 4th event in which he was attempting to pull a vehicle on a barge, totaling 16 and a half tons, from St. Ignace to Mackinac Island on a three and a half-mile swim. It’s the first time that Dreyer has had to pull out of an event due to injury. He will try this now on August 15th.
