LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Two members of the state House minority Democratic caucus have introduced a bill that would create an independent commission for drawing up political district boundaries in Michigan. Kalamazoo’s Jon Hoadley and suburban Detroit’s Jeremy Moss say that a US Supreme Court decision upholding a similar plan in Arizona served as the impetus for trying to end “gerrymandering” done by the majority party in the Legislature every 10 years.
