LANSING, MI (WHTC) – In light of the Michigan State Capitol Commission voting to ban drones from flying around the Capitol without a special permit, Grand Ledge Republican state Senator Rick Jones has asked the Legislature to introduce penalties for violating the ban, saying that the risks of a terrorist attack and damage to the historic building are too great. Other states have been considering a similar ban, with Georgia already prohibiting any drones within a five-mile radius of their capitol building.
