LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Governor Snyder has reaffirmed an initial determination from eight days ago that a financial emergency exists in Wayne County. A review team recommended state intervention earlier this month after the entity compiled debts of over a billion dollars. The County Commission now has seven days to decide whether to enter into a consent agreement with the state, allow Mr. Snyder to appoint an emergency manager, ask for a neutral evaluation, or file for Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection.
