LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has sent 17 firefighters to help battle wildfires blazing in five western states. They will compliment incident management team efforts in California, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Oregon, and the DNR sent two fire engines to Montana on Tuesday. California has been particularly hard hit, with the Pentagon dispatching 200 soldiers in the fight against 20 separate blazes; this is the first time in nearly a decade that such troops were called upon.
