BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/-WTVB) – The Calhoun County Public Health Department in partnership with Bronson Battle Creek, Grace Health and Oaklawn Hospital will begin offering more COVID-19 vaccine doses to residents.
Calhoun County Health Officer Eric Pessell says, “Working together on vaccination clinics will allow for us to vaccinate more residents, create more suitable hours, and hold more mass and micro clinics for the community. We have a goal to reach 70% of the population by years end and together I feel that we will accomplish it.
Since the pandemic began, the Calhoun County Public Health Department and Joint Operations Center have partnered with local hospitals on various initiatives.
The Public Health Department will be offering COVID-19 Walk-in Vaccine Clinics to Calhoun County residents age 16 years and older. Individuals who are 16 or 17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to receive the vaccine. Walk-in clinic information, as well as online pre-registration, is available at calhouncountymi.gov/covidvaccine
Bronson Healthcare has an open scheduling system, where people can select an appointment date, time and location through online scheduling or through Bronson MyChart. New clinics are added based on community need.
Oaklawn Hospital is currently administering the Moderna Vaccine. Vaccine appointments are for anyone 18 years and older.
Individuals ages 18 and older who are interested in getting a COVID-19 vaccine can call Grace Health at 484-212-5936 to schedule an appointment.

As of Monday, about 44 percent of Calhoun County residents over the age of 16 have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to date while 36 percent have completed the vaccination series.
