Drunken Driving Featured in Extended Police Crackdown

LANSING, MI (WHTC) – A new nationwide television ad campaign that began last night heralded a stepped up drunken driving enforcement effort across Michigan and around the country that will run through September 7^th. State police will be working with local law enforcement entities in concentrated road surveillance, as this period includes Labor Day weekend and college dorm move-in periods. Funding for the additional patrols in Michigan comes from a federal grant funneled through the State Office of Highway Safety Planning.
