LANSING, MI (WHTC) – MIRS News says that the Michigan Economic Development Corporation could trim a third of its approximate 300-person workforce due to restructuring. The agency blames a seven million-dollar funding shortfall, in part, on the Gun Lake Tribe withholding slot machine revenue from its casino in Bradley, although the Indian band claims that the state broke its compact with them when the Lottery Commission moved forward on Internet gaming. Talks to end that dispute are ongoing.
