LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Although thousands statewide are already participating or preparing to participate in fantasy sports gaming, the practice is in a grey area legally in Michigan. State Senate Democrat Curtis Hertel Junior of East Lansing plans this fall to introduce a bill that would classify fantasy sports leagues as a game of skill and not a game of chance. There has been no reported prosecution of fantasy gamers in Michigan thus far, and the state Attorney General’s office told MIRS News that it is not a high priority.
