LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Although the election is three years away, speculation on who would replace term-limited Governor Snyder in 2018 is already swirling in Lansing. MIRS News reports that former state Senate Miniority Leader Gretchen Whitmer visited the Upper Peninsula recently, telling news agency that she is seriously considering a run for the Democratic nomination. On the Republican side, Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley and Attorney General Bill Schuette have been mentioned as possible hopefuls.
