LANSING, MI (WHTC) – State Representative Todd Courser has resigned from the Michigan House of Representatives.
Courser submitted his resignation after 3 a.m. today which was written at his desk in the House chamber.
Cindy Gamrat is no longer a member of the Michigan House of Representatives. Lawmakers voted this morning to expel her from office after Republican state Representative Todd Courser of Lapeer decided to resign.
Courser’s decision came early this morning. The pair has admitted to breaking House rules in covering up an extramarital affair, but requested a public censure instead of expulsion. Democrats have withheld support needed for a super majority to force the pair to leave office because they want a criminal inquiry.
The House adjourned at 4:30 a.m.
