KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police in Kalamazoo are investigating two separate shootings that happened about an hour apart and within a mile and a half of each other.
The first shooting happened just before 11:00 p.m. last night on Inverness Lane near Gull Rd.. When officers arrived, they located a 16-year-old male teenager who had been struck by several bullets. He was taken to the hospital and his condition has not been reported. Three juveniles were seen running north from the scene but were not located.
The second shooting happened shortly after midnight on Fairbanks Ave. between Humphrey and E. Main Streets. Police say several rounds were fired into two houses. Residents were inside both homes at the time, but no one was injured.
It’s unclear if the two shootings are connected. Anyone with information is asked to call the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.
