LANSING, MI — Sparrow Hospital officials are confirming the hospital has about maxed out its bed capacity due to the spike in Coivd-19 cases.
Sparrow spokesperson John Foren confirms the hospital has been at “100% for several days now.” The hospital has 390 adult licensed beds and has set up approximately 73 overflow beds, according to Foren, but most of those are filled. As of Tuesday morning there were 124 Covid-19 patients at the Lansing hospital.
In addition, McLaren Greater Lansing told the Lansing State Journal on Tuesday it’s bed space is nearing 92% capacity.
Michigan has had the highest Covid-19 positivity rate int he nation over the past week.
