KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Schools has learned a lesson from the pandemic… some students do better learning online. That is part of the current plan for KPS this fall as parents and students will have a choice between virtual and classroom options. Superintendent Dr. Rita Raichoudhuri has planned a couple of virtual town hall meetings this week to flesh out the proposals and talk about them with parents.
“(It’s) to discuss the plans, our safety measures, and answer any questions families might have.”
She will present the final plan to the Board of Trustees the following evening.
“Families will then have ten days to discuss the plan, ask questions, talk to their children and others, and make a decision around which option they would like to enroll their child in.”
Registration for the two town hall sessions is required. They will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.. After registering, participants will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
