PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Portage man is facing child pornography charges. Investigators told WOOD-TV that they originally received tips in April 2019 regarding an online account later determined to belong to Juan Carlos Arroyo Sr.
They say he was obtaining illegal material while using the internet at his sister’s home in Portage, where he had been living with her and her three children. Court documents also showed Arroyo communicated with another man through a mobile app asking how to obtain illegal material and more child pornography was found on his smartphone. Investigators say he even talked about involving his young nephews in sexual activities with other men, but there’s no evidence that it actually happened.
After his May 2020 arrest, authorities believe Arroyo continued to exchange illegal files after being released on bond. The latest criminal complaint against him was filed last week.
