ALBION, MI (WTVB/WNWN) – The Calhoun County Public Health Department has announced they are pausing the use of Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose COVID-19 vaccine based on the Food and Drug Administration’s and CDC’s recommendation.
In a devastating blow to Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine roll out, the FDA and CDC announced on Tuesday that they are “recommending a pause in the use of this vaccine out of an abundance of caution.” The move comes amid concerns of possible links between the vaccine and blood clots in some who get the single-dose shot.
The C.C.P.H.D. says they will be using the Pfizer vaccine during Tuesday’s clinic at the Albion College Dow Center and they are going forward until further information is available.
