KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s office says two early morning incidents on the west side of Kalamazoo are connected to a homicide investigation. Undersheriff James VanDyken confirmed the information to WWMT regarding a heavy police presence in an area of Drake Rd. and Stadium Dr. as well as at Concord Place Apartments, just under a mile away. Earlier this morning, a body was observed being wheeled away by medical personnel at the Drake Rd. scene. Police have not released anymore information at this time. We will provide updates as they become available.

Kalamazoo area police, fire, and emergency personnel responded to two incidents during the early morning hours on Thursday.
WWMT reports that a medical examiner was observed in an area of Drake Rd. and Stadium Dr., possibly wheeling a body away. There was a large police presence there as well as other ambulances, but no other information has been made available.
Shortly later, and just a mile away, another incident involving multiple police vehicles was reported at Concord Place Apartments.
There is no indication at this time whether or not the two situations are related. We will provide more updates when they become available.
