BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Calhoun Country prosecutors are reviewing the stabbing death of a 43-year-old Battle Creek man in March, after police sent their report to prosecutors this week.
Christopher Dykstra was allegedly killed by an 18-year-old man outside a home in the 300 block of Main St.. Police believe the stabbing stemmed from an argument Dykstra was having with Amber Correnti when her son attempted to intervene. The teenager said he was struck by Dykstra and believed he would be further attacked, so he claimed the stabbing was in self-defense.
Police found Dykstra dead in the driveway of the home. The 18-year-old son and the knife used were located nearby.
