VAN BUREN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Wednesday, the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office announced that it will be conducting a series of Neighborhood Watch presentations.
Officials say these presentations will last for thirty minutes each, and will include time for questions with its established Neighborhood Watch groups.
These trainings are open to anyone from Van Buren County, and officials encourage participants to invite friends and neighbors.
The presentations will take place at the Van Buren County Conference Center, located at 490 South Paw Paw Street, Lawrence, Michigan, 49064.
Seating is limited, and participants must RSVP by email. Participants can send a message to Reserve Lt. Rodney Bridgeforth at neighborhood@vbco.org.
The meeting schedule is as follows:
- May 5, 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – Scams, specifically targeting the elderly. (Detective Sharon VanDam)
- June 9, 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – Disaster preparedness. (Lt. Bob Kirk)
- August 3, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – National Night Out Open House at the park in Lawrence. (No presentation)
- September 8, 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – Internet safety. (Reserve Sgt. Walter Grech)
- October 6, 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – Reporting Suspicious Activity and Observation Skills. (Reserve Lt. Rodney Bridgeforth)
