LANSING, MI — Michigan State Police troopers will be receiving autism awareness training in April as next month is National Autism Awareness Month.
MSP is joining “Actin for Autism,” providing training on awareness and giving troopers bags for their patrol vehicles with items to calm someone on the spectrum.
The instruction troopers will receive covers guidance for responding to calls with people with special needs, specifically those who wander due to autism spectrum disorder.
