SILVER CREEK TWP., CASS COUNTY MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police are investigating a fatal single car crash that took place in Cass County Friday, March 19th.
The victim is identified as 39-year-old Derrick Hydron of Niles. Authorities say the crash occurred just after 6 p.m. on Sister Lake Road north of Haley Road in Silver Creek Township.
The investigation determined that Hydron lost control of his vehicle on a curve and went off the road, causing him to roll his vehicle. The victim died of injuries sustained in the crash.
Speed and alcohol are believed to be a factor and the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
Assisting agencies on scene were Sister Lakes Fire, Pride Care EMS and Pokagon Tribal Police.
