KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — In recognition of National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention month, the Kalamazoo Area Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition, (KAAHTC) will be offering two free seminars on Tuesday, January 14, 2020.
Both of these seminars will host advocate, author, survivor and creator of Save Our Adolescents from Prostitution (S.O.A.P.) Theresa Flores as a guest speaker.
“KAAHTC is super excited to have Theresa Flores in Kalamazoo to share her experience and her expertise with our community,” officials said in a statement. “She has been a force behind the fight to prevent human trafficking across the country. Her story is compelling and reminds us of why we do the work we do.”
This event is also dedicated in the remembrance of Roxanne Fawley, who officials say was a devoted KAAHTC board member, friend, and author.
The first seminar, billed as a “Lunch and Learn,” will take place Tuesday, January 14 from 11:00 am – 1:00 p.m. inside the Lawrence Education Center Auditorium at Ascension Borgess Health. Officials say that a copy of one of Theresa Flores’ books will be given to the first 100 attendees
